57 new cases reported in the Imperial County

New death brings total to 12

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Imperial County Public Health Department (ICPHD) confirms 57 new cases of coronavirus, its highest one-day spike since the virus began.

This brings the countywide total to 512.

Health officials also announced the death of one more patient. So far the illness has killed 12 Imperial Valley residents.

The county is not releasing personal details on the latest victim of the virus, they also have not released new information on the newest patients.

These new cases reflect the Valley's increased testing efforts. Over 3,300 have now been tested.
