YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents rescue two men lost in the desert and out of water on Wednesday afternoon.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) say Wellton Station received information concerning a 911 phone call in regards to two individuals claiming to be in distress.

The caller provided agents their location and an Air and Marine Operations crew from the Yuma Air Branch was able to make contact with the two individuals within a short time, as agents arrived moments later.

Agents conducted an immigration and criminal history screening on the two men.  A 27-year-old Guatemalan man and a 30-year-old Mexican man were medically screened and refused medical attention.  CBP says both men were expelled under Title 42 Authority.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials welcome assistance from the community. Individuals can report suspicious activity to the Border Patrol and remain anonymous by calling 1-877-872-7435 toll-free. Reporting illicit activity could result in saving someone’s life.
