Drugs and nearly $21K in cash seized at San Luis Port of Entry
SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-Five people are busted with drugs and undeclared cash on separate incidents over the weekend.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) say in the first incident, a 23-year-old woman traveling with her five-year-old child was sent to secondary inspection after a canine alerted to the tires of her vehicle.
A search of the vehicle led officers to discover approximately 55 pounds of methamphetamine. The female was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) for processing and the child was released to a grandparent.
In the second incident, two teenage girls ages 15 and 19 year-old were busted attempting to smuggle fentanyl pills strapped to their torso.
Two other individuals were caught carrying undeclared currency totaling nearly $21,000.
