One taken to hospital after shooting, suspect on the loose

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)- Police are searching for a suspect in an overnight shooting in Yuma.

The Yuma Police Department (YPD) says they received a report of an aggravated assault on Tuesday at the 2000 block of S 11th Avenue. When YPD arrived at the scene, they found a 42-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say the victim was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

YPD said the suspect is still on the loose and is described as a Hispanic male approximately 5’ 6”, heavy build, brown hair and was last seen wearing a white shirt.
