San Luis Rio Colorado now reporting 7 deaths
Cases surpass 200 in Sonora
SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, Sonora (KYMA, KECY) - Sonoran health officials confirm 15 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the total to 214.
In a video conference Friday evening, the Sonora State Health Secretary Enrique Clausen Iberri reported there are 2 new deaths in Sonora.
One of which was a San Luis Rio Colorado (SLRC) resident. Iberri says she was a 49-year-old resident with diabetes. Her symptoms surfaced on April 17, and Iberri says her condition rapidly deteriorated, and she needed a ventilator.
She died on April 24, shortly after officials transported her to a Mexicali hospital for treatment. She marks the seventh death in SLRC due to the virus.
With her death, and a second reported the state, Sonora is now at 24 coronavirus-related deaths.
Iberri adds out of all 214 who have tested positive, 17 have recovered.
