Mayor Nicholls hosts meetings with local business owners

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Re-opening the Country is on the minds of many. Mayor Douglas Nicholls hosted a virtual meeting with Yuma business owners; to start planning the best way of re-opening the City of Yuma.

The ongoing meetings are primarily focusing on a path forward and what it looks like for the city.

The plan is to develop phases and there will be different restrictions for businesses throughout.

Mayor Nicholls says, the Governor's Office asked all cities to partake in these types of meetings.

The Mayor and business owners are coming up with measures that are appropriate at different levels of each industry.

“They understand really what the concern is. But they feel they are ready to address that. They really wanted to have those opportunities, as things are safe and as things are ready. Because there also is going to be a level of public confidence also. Just because they are open doesn’t mean they are going to come and sit," Mayor Nicholls said.
