YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-An undocumented immigrant with fake documents traveling in a Greyhound bus was arrested Monday, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Wellton Border Patrol agents at the I-8 immigration checkpoint referred the greyhound to secondary inspection for an immigration inspection.

Agents say they encountered a man that presented a birth certificate and a California state identification card, however, the person did not resemble the picture on the ID.

According to CBP, the man did not speak English and was taken in for biometric analysis for proper identification.

CBP says the man admitted to being illegally present in the U.S. The man also admitted to purchasing two fraudulent documents in Mexico for $100.

Record checks also revealed the man had a prior immigration removal in October 2019 and had been found in possession of a stolen permanent resident card.

Reports say the man is a 32-year-old from Michoacan, Mexico. He is being charged for identify theft, CBP says.
