Yuma high school students medal in regional event
The students took home 13 medals
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Nursing and sports medicine students from across Yuma Union High School District’s Career & Technical Education programs won 13 medals in the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Region 4 championship, according to YUHSD.
Medalists in regionals qualify for the state competition in April.
“Our team did exceptional and I am really proud of the confidence they demonstrated to compete at this level with their knowledge,” Yuma High School Sports Medicine Instructor Nick Santos said. “Each student chose the area of health they wanted to compete in. We are looking forward to the next event in the spring.”

HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
