Imperial Valley Unified School District Measure P Bond measure:

Measure P is a $30 million bond obligation, according to the Imperial Unified School District.

A “yes” vote, would authorize the use of the $30 million bonds, but it would be taxed annually $45 per $100,000 of assessed value.

A “no” vote, would not authorize the use of the $30 million bond.

The district said they put Measure P on the ballot for school improvement projects.

They added in a letter to parents the reason they cannot currently improve their school is because there cost is much more than the funding they are currently working with.

They hope to do the following:

  • Modernize the cafeteria at Ben Hulse
  • Modernize/construct a pool facility
  • Construct a multi-purpose room at Imperial High
  • Make health and safety improvements, including student drop-off and pick-up areas
  • Replace temporary portables with permanent classrooms
