Early morning house fire in Yuma leaves 3 homeless
2 dogs killed in blaze
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - An early morning house fire in Yuma leaves three people homeless and kills two of their family pets.
The Yuma Fire Department (YFD) says it was called to a home in the 1400 block of 12th Drive just after six Monday morning. Firefighters say they arrived to find visible flames and smoke pouring from the residence. Crews managed to knock down the fire fairly quickly.
All three of the home's residents were able to escape with several of their dogs, but they weren't able to find all of their pets. Two dogs died in the blaze. Firefighters did find a third dog and got it out of the house.
Investigators are still determining how the fire started.
Firefighters say the blaze left the home uninhabitable. The American Red cross is helping those displaced/
