Woman injured in Somerton crash
SOMERTON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-The Somerton Cocopah Fire Department (SCFD) says one woman was taken to the hospital after crashing Tuesday.
SCFD said the accident happened at West County 17 1/2 and South Avenue B.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a black Toyota Camry with damages to its front end facing north in the southbound lane of Avenue B, a blue Dodge Sedan moderate damage to its front end, and a semi cab on the west shoulder with damage to its rear.
According to SCFD, the woman driving the Camry had a fracture to her right lower leg and complained about pain to the abdomen and hips.
As a result of her injuries, she was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center.
No other injuries were reported.
SCFD says multiple witnesses at the scene stated the semi cab spun backward into the southbound lane of Avenue B, striking into the Camry's rear, causing the Camry to spin and crash into the Dodge sedan.
SCFD personnel says the driver of the Camry will possibly be flown to Phoenix for additional medical attention.
The Yuma County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
