Apply for YPD’s spay and neuter grant

Yuma police patch

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - YPD reminds residents there is still time to apply for their spay and neuter grant for your pet cats and dogs.

Through the grant, Yuma residents are eligible to have their furry friends spayed or neutered at a discounted price through the Humane Society of Yuma.

Vouchers will be issued to cover a portion of the surgery, ranging from $20 to $85, depending on household income.

In order to use the vouchers, YPD says pets must receive an anti-rabies vaccine and a City license -- both must be paid by the citizen.

The grant is provided to YPD by the Arizona Companion Animal spay and Neuter committee.

The deadline to apply is August 10th, 2020.

Interested citizens are encouraged to call the City of Yuma Animal Control office at (928) 373 - 4795 for more information.
