State of Emergency declared for 19 counties

ISSAQUAH, Wash. (KYMA, KECY) - Heavy rain creates chaos in parts of Washington state.

Some areas are watching rising rivers. Others are worrying about fast-moving flood waters. Those in the higher elevations are anxious about avalanche warnings.

In Issaquah, east of Seattle, many cars sit in deep water. Up to four more inches of rain are predicted for the area.

Forecasters warn of landslides in the lower elevations. An avalanche warning is in place for the Cascade Mountains.

Governor Jay Inslee has issued an emergency proclamation for 19 counties due to the severe weather. Storms are expected to last through the weekend.
