Prosecutors say Bruce Parks drove 80-miles to meet-up with a 13-year-old girl

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Prosecutors asked for a higher bond on Tuesday for a Calipatria man accused of trying to have sex with an underage girl.

Investigators say Bruce Lee Parks drove nearly 80-miles to meet up with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl. They say the meetup was actually part of a sting conducted by Truckers Against Predators.

On Tuesday, prosecutors tried to get a judge to raise Parks' bail to $200,000. They cited his prior convictions, and the seriousness of the charges against him.

Parks now faces eight felony counts, including aggravated luring of a minor for sex, and possession of dangerous drugs.

In the end, the judge set his bail at $100,000. Parks faces the judge again on February 25.
