KFC now selling vegan fried chicken
Plant-based options being test-marketed in the South
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (KYMA, KECY) - Colonel Sanders is cooking up something different in Kentucky Fried Chicken locations across the South.
The fried chicken chain is now testing a new vegan recipe using plant-based protein from "Beyond Meat."
The meatless fried chicken will be sold as nuggets and boneless wings. Both sold out in a matter of hours during test runs in Atlanta.
The vegan chicken is now on the menu in restaurants in Charlotte, Nashville, and 70 other southern locations.
No word on when, or if, the meatless nuggets will head west.
