Suspect reportedly tried to get young girl into his car

SOMERTON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) asks for the public's help in locating a man who may have been trying to abduct a teenage girl.

Deputies say it happened around 4:15 Wednesday afternoon in the area of County 18th Street and Avenue B.

The girl claims an older Hispanic man in a dark blue Toyota Corolla approached her after she got off the school bus. She says he followed her, tried to get her to engage in an inappropriate conversation, and offered a ride home. The girl says the man took off after she pointed to a random house, and told him she was home.

The vehicle was last seen driving north on Avenue B 1/2.

  • Dark blue Toyota Corolla with tinted windows
  • Older Hispanic man
  • Gray hair - gray stubble beard
  • Last seen in the area of Avenue B and County 18th Street
