Red flag warning and wind advisory issued for Yuma county

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)- The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning and a high wind advisory remain in effect until Thursday evening at 11 P.M. and surrounding areas.

Strong winds and low humidity levels contributing to a high fire danger for Southeast California and Western Arizona. 

Areas that are affected by this red flag warning include Yuma, Martinez Lake, Lower Colorado River Valley, and Imperial County. 

This will be set into effect from Thursday morning through Thursday evening.

Winds blowing North at 20 to 30 miles per hour and gusts of up to 45 miles per hour are expected.

Humidity levels are expected to be as low as 45 miles per hour.

The high wind advisory is set for Yuma, Arizona as well as Southeastern Imperial County. 

Difficult driving conditions, especially for larger vehicles traveling along roads with crosswinds are expected. 

The National Weather Service warning that light, unsecured objects may become airborne.
