Merchants slash prices on Harry and Meghan souvenirs
Royal split results in discount prices
WINDSOR, England (KYMA, KECY) - Prince Harry and Meghan's split with the royal family has sent their memorabilia to the clearance racks.
Gift shops on the streets next to Windsor Castle cut prices today on everything from mugs featuring the couple's faces, to biscuit tins recalling their royal wedding.
"The main reason we reduced the price is because they're not a part of the royal family any more. After the split-up, suppliers are not going to do these things and we just want to sell all the stock we have got. We don't want to keep it in the shop." said Sam Khan, who works in a gift shop specializing in royal keepsakes.
Prince Harry and his wife will stop using their royal titles this spring, and give up state funding so they can pursue an independent life. They'll also repay taxpayer money used to refurbish their home at Windsor Castle.
The couple plans to split their time between Britain and North America.
