Man missing in Grand Canyon found alive

Texas man last seen on December 22

GRAND CANYON NAT'L. PARK, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - A man who had been missing in the Grand Canyon for 11-days has been found alive.

Park rangers found Martin O'Connor of La Porte, Texas on Thursday.

A medical helicopter carried him out of the park. He remains hospitalized in stable condition. Doctors aren't releasing any details on the nature of his injuries.

O'Connor was located on the New Hance Trail. It's one of the most challenging trails on the canyon's South Rim.

O'Connor was last seen on December 22 in Grand Canyon Village. That's about 18-miles from the trail.
