New Details: Crash on Avenue G sends three people to the hospital
UPDATE: 7:48 A.M.
YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - Firefighters say a crash involving a lettuce trailer sent three people to the hospital Friday night.
The Somerton Cocopah Fire Department and Rural Metro responded to the crash on Avenue G just sound of County 11th just after 7 p.m.
Somerton Cocopah Firefighters say the driver of a black pickup told them the lettuce trailer turned into his lane. He says he swerved to try to avoid the trailer, but hit it, then careened into a field.
The crash seriously damaged the pickup’s front driver side and trapped the driver inside his vehicle. Firefighters used the jaws of life to free him. Paramedics then took him to the hospital.
Two people in the cab of the lettuce trailer were also hurt. Paramedics took them to the hospital as well.
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the wreck.

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - Paramedics take at least one person to the hospital after an accident on Avenue G just south of County 11th.
The crash involved a full-sized pickup truck. It appears to have rolled over.
Somerton Cocopah Fire and Rural Metro responded to the wreck. Firefighters had to use the "jaws of life" to free the driver.
The accident briefly shut down Avenue G. It has since re-opened.
