Suspect claims no memory of fiery attack

AVONDALE, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - Court document show an Arizona woman accused of setting her boyfriend on fire did so because he wouldn't celebrate her new job with her.

Avondale police arrested 46-year-old Kathy Elizabeth Jones last week on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of criminal damage.

Court records show Jones' boyfriend told police she doused him with lighter fluid then flicked matches at him after he refused to go out with her to celebrate her new job at a Subway restaurant. He claims he had to lock her out of their apartment.

Documents show Jones told police she had been drinking and had no memory of the incident. She remains behind bars on $15,000 bond.
