WASHINGTON, D.C. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY)- The U.S. Senate approved military priorities for Yuma and Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema's Sgt. Daniel Somers Network of Support Act as part of this year's defense bill Tuesday.

Sinema's team said the funding has been approved for MCAS Yuma's barracks and its Hangar 95. It now heads to the President's desk to be signed into law.

“Our service members put their lives on the line to keep Arizona safe and secure, and it is our duty to ensure they have complete access to critical resources. Today’s passage of our Network of Support Act directly engages servicemembers’ loved ones, strengthening support for servicemembers and ensuring they have somewhere to turn in times of need,” said Sinema.

Senator Kyrsten Sinema visited Yuma in August and met with service members stationed at MCAS Yuma to discuss any concerns they had.

Sinema mentioned how one of the biggest issues that affected the service members directly was the outdated barracks that date back to the 1950s.
