Border Patrol arrests juvenile girls with narcotics strapped to their bodies
Cocaine and fentanyl pills valuing over 60,000 dollars
SALTON CITY, Calif. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - Border Patrol agents have arrested two girls attempting to smuggle drugs strapped to their bodies.
On Friday morning, agents at the Highway 86 checkpoint stopped a man driving a red 2019 Toyota Corolla with two juvenile female passengers inside.
A canine agent alerted agents to send the vehicle to secondary for further inspection.
There, agents found that both juvenile girls had packages of narcotics strapped around their waists and chests.
In total, seven packages containing cocaine and fentanyl pills were discovered, with an estimated value of over sixty thousand dollars.
The two juveniles are 17-year-old United States citizens. The 63-year-old driver is a Lawfully Admitted Permanent resident.
Both narcotics and the vehicle involved were turned over to the Imperial county Sheriff's Office border crimes Suppression team.
