Crash slows traffic along Highway 95

Accident blocks intersection of 95 and Avenue D

An accident with injuries shut down the intersection of Highway 95 and Avenue D briefly around three Monday afternoon.

The Somerton Cocopah Fire Department says firefighters and paramedics arrived to find a Jeep Cherokee in the middle of the intersection and a Ford pickup on the southeast corner.

Witnesses say the Jeep was trying to turn east onto Highway 95 when it hit the truck.

Paramedics took the truck's driver to the hospital after he complained of back, hip, and leg pain. The Jeep's driver wasn't hurt.

Somerton Police are investigating.
