Food Bank in need of more turkeys to feed families this Thanksgiving
Help the Yuma Community Food Bank help families
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - The Yuma Community Food Bank will be giving away 300 holiday meals on November 22 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Each meal includes a turkey, however, the food bank is still in need of 150 turkeys.
“If you’re out shopping, buy one for you and buy one for the community,” said Shara Whitehead, the president and CEO of the Yuma Community Food Bank.
This campaign is part of the food bank’s first annual holiday food drive. On top of the turkey, families will receive a box of food including corn, pasta, hot chocolate mix, and more.
The holidays are a special time for families to come together and enjoy a special meal.
“Traditions are run deep in many communities and Yuma is no different,” Whitehead said.
You can drop off turkeys anytime before Friday at 2 p.m. at the Yuma Community Food Bank located at 2404 E 24th St, Yuma, AZ 85365.
