Accused school shooter dies from injuries
The accused gunman in Thursday’s shooting at a Southern California High School has died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
A short time ago, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced 16-year-old Nathaniel Tennosuke Berhow passed away just after 3:30 Friday afternoon.
Investigators say Berhow opened fire on five classmates at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California then shot himself in the head. The attack came on his 16th birthday.
Two students, 15-year-old Gracie Muehlberger and 14-year-old Dominic Blackwell, died from their injuries within hours of the shooting. Two other girls remain hospitalized. Doctors expect to release them this weekend. A fifth student is already out of the hospital.
Investigators still have no motive for the shooting.
