Rider critically injured

A motorcycle crash has closed down Avenue A in Yuma.

It happened just after four Wednesday afternoon.

Yuma Police tell KYMA.com a black Yamaha slammed into a Chevy Silverado while making a left turn onto 28th Street.

Paramedics took the 43-year-old rider to Yuma Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.  The driver and passengers of the Chevy were not hurt.

Officers say it doesn't look like alcohol played a role in the crash.

Avenue A remains closed from 28th Street to Palmcroft Drive.
