In preparation for 2020 regionals

YUMA, Ariz - The Yuma Union High School District needs judges for its annual Academic Decathlon Scrimmage at Cibola High. Judges are needed for multiple portions of the event.

The Scrimmage helps students prepare for Arizona's regional competitions in 2020 and includes five categories within the competition.

YUHSD estimates that 80 volunteers will be needed through December 6-7 at Cibola High School.

In 2019, Cibola's Academic Decathlon team placed 10th in Arizona, the highest finish by any YUSDH school in over ten years.

Yuma High and Gila Ridge also competed at state levels, with Yuma High earning a medal in the interview category.

Cibola High will also host the regional competition in 2020.
