Brawley PD:Toddler found dead in apartment complex, mother is in custody

BRAWLEY, Calif. (KSWT)-

A mother was taken into custody after police say they found her 19-month-old toddler dead inside their home in Brawley Thursday.

According to the Brawley Police Department (BPD), they received a report from a neighbor, about a possible deceased child at an apartment complex on West E Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the deceased baby inside the apartment.

BPD is investigating the crime.

The 23-year-old mother was booked into the Imperial County Jail on charges of involuntary manslaughter, BPD said.
