Making your vote count in Imperial County

On Tuesday, November 5 Imperial County residents will be asked to cast their ballots for a number of races. Let’s take a look at what you need to know to make your vote count.

Voting 101

To vote in California, an individual must be 18-years-old, a U.S. Citizen and a state resident. To cast a ballot, you must be registered to vote at least 15-days ahead of an election.

In most cases, identification is not required to vote. A voter may be asked to show ID if it’s their first time voting. Acceptable identification includes a driver’s license number, utility bill, or any document sent by a government agency.
