Accident shuts down portion of I-8
Around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, witnesses reported a crash on Interstate 8 near the 16th street exit.
Passing drivers believe there was a victim receiving CPR on the side of the road.
According to the Yuma Police Department ( YPD ), the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) was the first agency to respond to the scene.
YPD assisted with managing traffic and shut down the interstate between Exit 3 westbound and 16th street.
DPS confirmed one person was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center.
