No charges filed against man accused of child sex crimes

The Yuma man that was arrested last week on 20 charges of sexual exploitation of a child was back in court Monday afternoon.

After prosecutors had two days to review the police report and make a determination on whether the man would face charges.

However, prosecutors chose not to at this time. Prosecutors said they need additional time to review the report.

Prosecutors still have the opportunity to file charges at a later time. If charges are filed, the 29-year-old suspect will return to court.

The Yuma Police Department (YPD) arrested the man after they conducted a search warrant and found multiple illegal images and videos of children on social media and devices.

YPD’s Family and Child sex crimes unit said they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
