El Centro Border Patrol agents seize over $100,000 worth of meth

El Centro sector Border Patrol agents seized nearly sixty pounds of methamphetamine Friday afternoon, estimated to be worth over 100 thousand dollars.

At approximately 12:20 p.m. a Border Patrol canine at the Highway 111 checkpoint alerted agents to an 18-year-old man in a Dodge Durango.

The vehicle was sent to secondary inspection, where agents discovered 87 packages hidden inside the rear quarter panels. Border Patrol agents determined the substance inside to be methamphetamine, weighing nearly sixty pounds

The suspect is a United States citizen. He, along with the vehicle and narcotics were delivered to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
