U of A college student from San Luis writes children’s book

U of A student from San Luis wrote a children’s book called Pablo Goes Political in an attempt to get children talking about politics and thinking about their future.

Edgar Melendrez wrote this book in just two days and self-published through Amazon. He came up with the idea after wanting to get children interested in politics. He does this by making his main character, Pablo, become President at the end of the story and not explaining how.

When Edgar read the book to fourth-grade students at Valley Horizon they were curious as to how Pablo became President. Edgar then left it at, that’s a discussion he wanted them to have with their parents.

Politics nowadays is a popular topic, and Edgar wants the movement going on today to continue into future elections. He dedicated the book to his three-year-old niece who he hopes gets involved with politics when she’s older.

Edgar challenges children to give back when they are older, and to be whatever they want to be when they grow up.

Pablo goes Political did receive some criticism as to why would someone would publish a children’s book on politics. However, that didn’t stop Edgar from continuing and trying to get children involved and thinking about their future.
