Remains of missing toddler found

FBI

Police in Alabama believe they’ve found the remains of a missing three-year-old.

Kamille ” Cupcake ” McKinney was kidnapped from a birthday party on October 12.

Birmingham police say they found the little girl’s body Tuesday in a dumpster at a landfill.

Officers detained two men early on in the search. Those men, Patrick Stallworth and Derick Brown, will be charged with capital murder in connection with Kamille’s disappearance and death.

Shortly after the tragic discovery, Birmingham police chief Patrick Smith said, ” We believe that this was something that they thought about and acted upon. They saw an opportunity to take a young child, which they did, and our further investigation will reveal whatever actions were taken after that. ”

Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin added, ” Tonight, our entire city is mourning. Kamille is gone, ripped away from her family. The pain her family is enduring is unimaginable. As Chief has said, I think I need to make this point. The perpetrator of this crime will be brought to justice and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. ”
