Quintero sentenced to life behind bars
The Somerton man accused of killing the mother of his two children will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Before Judge Brandon Kinsey sentenced Oscar Quintero to natural life behind bars for premeditated First-Degree murder sentence Quintero’s brother spoke on his character saying he served his community and loved his family.
Quintero’s brother even detailed a rocky childhood of abuse and trauma.
” This is not what Oscar had worked hard for and wanted for this life,” explained Quintero’s brother.
Medina’s family then addressed the judge asking for maximum sentences for the five charges the jury found him guilty of.
Medina’s sister reading a letter from Medina and Quintero’s oldest daughter that read, “My mommy was the best mommy in the whole entire world.”
Medina’s mother also addressed the court and told the judge Quintero never loved her daughter or her granddaughters.
Quintero then addressed the judge and apologized for his actions and said he loved Clarissa and his daughters adding being away from his kids was the real punishment.
A jury found Oscar Quintero guilty of premeditated first-degree murder per domestic violence, attempted first-degree murder, and three charges of aggravated assault on August 30.
Throughout the trial, prosecutors presented evidence detailing a tumultuous relationship between Quintero and Medina.
Even bringing forth text messages between Quintero and Medina after the two called it quits of Quintero decorating their shared bed with roses in the shape of a heart.
Surveillance video of Quintero looking for Medina just hours before the fatal shooting was shown to the jury as prosecutors explained Quintero was hunting his prey.
