The annual Orionid meteor shower peaks overnight on Monday, October 21 into Tuesday morning, but the moon could make it hard to see.

According to the American Meteor Society, 15-20 meteors per hour are expected at peak time on Tuesday, October 22.

Forbes reports the best time will be after midnight when your location will be on the nightside of the Earth.

The National Weather Service reports tonight’s weather will be clear, with a low around 66. North wind around 5 mph .

Visible from both hemispheres, the Orionids and any moonless meteor shower are best enjoyed under a dark country sky.

Forbes said whatever you do, don’t stop looking and do not look at your smartphones since its white light will instantly kill your night vision.
