Trial date set for Calexico city councilwoman
The California Attorney General’s Office has set a court date for Calexico city councilwoman Rosie Fernandez.
Fernandez is accused of a May hit-and-run accident. She’s also accused of driving drunk in July. Court records show her blood alcohol level was .15% at the time. That’s nearly twice the legal limit.
The Imperial County District Attorneys Office has turned the case over to the state for prosecution.
On Friday state prosecutors announced Fernandez will stand trial on four criminal counts, including hit-and-run and DUI. That trial is scheduled to begin November 13.
