Job fair seeks to connect Imperial Valley’s disabled with employers

A hiring event in El Centro aims to connect employers with qualified applicants, especially those dealing with a disability.

For a seventh year, Access to Independence will host its annual Employment and Resource Fair at the Cal Works Building.

This year’s theme is Disability and Employment. The goal is to promote an inclusive hiring environment for people of all abilities. And this year organizers are waiving the usual $25 registration fee.

The job fair starts at nine Wednesday morning, and runs until noon. It will be held at the Cal Works Building at 2895 S. Fourth Street in El Centro.

Participants are encouraged to dress for success and bring plenty of resumes.

In the past as many as 300 job seekers attended this event.
