AZ Lottery reports over 1 billion in earned commissions

Retailers are the real winners of the Arizona Lottery. Today it announced retailers have reached a record 1 billion dollars in commissions, boosting the Arizona economy.

Commissions have gone towards increasing revenue and growth for over 3,000 lottery retailers. These commissions boost Arizona’s economy, giving communities more chances for job growth and business development.

AZ lottery said their record-breaking sales allow them to give back to their consumers. The hundreds of millions they generate fund programs across the state.

Those programs include higher education funding, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for children, and the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Heritage Fund.

In the 2019 fiscal year alone, AZ Lottery paid over 73 million dollars in retail commissions which generated 230 million for state programs.

This accomplishment puts AZ Lottery one year ahead by surpassing its 2020 fiscal year goal of 1 billion dollars in sales.
