Man hit by car in Yuma seriously injured

A vehicle hit a man walking across the intersection of 3rd Street and 3rd Avenue Monday night.

The Yuma Police Department (YPD) said the 28-year-old man was in the crosswalk when he was struck by a 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan being driven by an 82-year-old man.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

YPD said no other injuries were reported.
