Border Patrol rescues 3 men lost in Jacumba Mountains
El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents rescued three men lost in the Jacumba Mountain Wilderness area south of Ocotillo.
Agents got a call from one of the men around ten Monday night. The caller said he and his companions were lost, and one man was unable to walk. Agents confirmed their approximate location, and immediately dispatched both the Mountain Disrupt Unit ( MDU ) and Border Search and Rescue ( BORSTAR ).
The lost men lit a signal fire. Search teams located the fire, and the men, around midnight.
Rescuers treated one member of the party for leg cramps and vomiting.
They then arrested all three and took them to El Centro for processing and prosecution.
