Ronald McDonald House Charities recognizes local health group
For almost three decades the Imperial Valley Family Care Group has served the local community.
It’s financial support and commitment to the Ronald McDonald House Charities is vital for getting families the medical help they need.
Ronald McDonald House Charities President, Charles Day said, ” That 56 families a night that are from the Imperial Valley. And so having this partnership and having someone we can talk to and relate to within the Imperial Valley is absolutely key. ”
25 percent of the families who stay at the Ronald McDonald house come straight from the Imperial Valley. The house provides these families with necessities while their child receives medical attention.
Day added, ” When a family has a child in the hospital, all of their resources; emotional, physical, financially are dedicated to providing the best possible outcome for that child. ”
But it’s only possible through events like ” National Red Shoe Day ” . Where local agencies and community members lend a hand.
William Hopson , the Imperial Valley Family Medical Care Group CEO said, ” Being able to have a partner that allows families that may have limited economical resources, to be able to help support families as they receive care particularly for the children on this family can’t be understated. ”
Even if the Imperial Valley Family Medical Care Group isn’t able to provide the right healthcare for their patients locally, they know they can count on the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
” We have our patients that we do everything we can for to keep and take care of. But in those cases where they need to receive higher care, and they go to San Diego for a higher level of care, the Ronald Mcdonald house has been a beacon of light for us to be able to have patients and their families, get support in otherwise very trying times, ” said Hopson .
Residents can expect volunteers to ask for donations on Red Shoe Day in various locations throughout the Imperial Valley on October 17.
