Crash closes southbound lanes of Arizona Avenue

A traffic accident in Yuma sends four people to the hospital and shuts down the southbound lanes of Arizona Avenue.

It happened just before seven Thursday night in the 1500 block of Arizona Avenue.

Yuma Police say a Chevy Equinox was pulling out of a driveway when a Ford F-150 hit it. The impact flipped the Equinox onto its roof, trapping the driver inside.

Firefighters freed the 80-year-old driver of the Chevy and sent the driver to the hospital.

Paramedics also transported the three people inside the truck. The woman driving, a teenage passenger, and an eight-month-old boy all suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Yuma police continue to investigate. They ask anyone who might have witnessed the accident to call (928) 373-4000. Or you can remain anonymous by calling 78-CRIME.
