Man accused of raping migrant woman near Ajo

A man sits behind bars tonight accused of raping a female migrant in the desert near Ajo .

33-year-old Antonio Cruz-Morales is jailed on suspicion of two counts of sexual assault.

Border Patrol agents took Cruz-Morales into custody Tuesday. They then transferred him to Tucson for questioning by Pima County Sheriff’s deputies.

Agents sent the female victim to the hospital for treatment.
