Yuma County Library events: week of September 30

On Wednesday, October 2nd , the Yuma Main Library, in collaboration with AARP, will host “Getting to Know Medicare” at 5:30 p.m.

Michael Arce , a licensed Medicare services agent, will discuss Medicare plans and how Parts A, B, and D work with each Medicare option. Materials will be provided, and questions are encouraged. There is no charge to attend.

Do you need help tackling a writing project? Scrivener might be the answer! On Saturday, October 5th , local writer Melissa Stevens will present “Introduction to Scrivener” at 11:00 a.m. at the Main Library. There is no charge to attend.

Scrivener is a software program for writing with more organization and options than a word processor. Scrivener breaks down your writing into manageable ” chunks ” and keeps all of your research, brainstorming, and writing in a single conceptual workspace. Use Scrivener for your book project, novel or any writing project!

On Saturday, October 5th , celebrate International Observe the Moon Night at the Foothills Library! Join us anytime between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the Foothills Library parking lot, 13226 E. South Frontage Road. Look at the sun, observe the moon, and view other planets through library telescopes provided courtesy of the Friends of the Foothills Library. There is no charge to attend.

International Observe the Moon Night is an annual worldwide public event that encourages observation, appreciation and understanding of our Moon, NASA planetary science and exploration. The annual event connects scientists, educators and lunar enthusiasts from around the world.
