Two killed in head-on crash near Wickenburg
A head-on crash just north of Wickenburg leaves two truck drivers dead.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the collision happened around 5:15 Tuesday morning on US-93.
Troopers say it looks like one semi crossed the center line and slammed into the other big rig. They still don’t know why.
Paramedics pronounced both truck drivers dead at the scene.
US-93 connect Phoenix to Las Vegas. It will stay closed until investigators finish collecting clues to the crash.
WICKENBURG, Ariz. (AP) – Authorities say two drivers, including one of a UPS semi-truck, are dead after their vehicles crashed head-on just north of Wickenburg.
Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves says the collision happened around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday on US-93.
He says the preliminary investigation indicates a semi-truck heading south crossed the center median for an unknown reason.
The semi collided with a UPS semi-truck traveling in the northbound lane.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say US-93, which connects Phoenix and Las Vegas, will be closed for several hours as investigators review the scene.
