Mexican officials shoot man armed with knife in San Luis RCS

A 24-year-old man who threatened another man with a knife was shot five times by San Luis, Mexico police after the suspect was asked to drop the knife but refused to do so.

According to Mexican authorities, the suspect originally from Chiapas, Mexico, was shot in the legs, arms, and pelvis. Reports said the 24-year-old is expected to survive.

The victim said he was working at Servicios Publicos de Ayuntamiento when the suspect came up to him with the knife saying he was being threatened to be shot by the victim. The victim said he never threaten the suspect.

Police said the victim called 911 to report him.

After police arrived, the suspect was asked to drop the weapon but became angry with the police and refused to do so.

As a result, the suspect was shot and transferred to the hospital for immediate care.
