Body cam footage captures Phoenix water rescue
Newly-released body cam video shows the moment a Phoenix police officer saves a man from rising flood waters.
It happened during this week’s severe storms.
Heavy rains and rising flood waters left Daniel Abbott clinging to a fence in the backyard of his Apache Junction home.
Video shows the officer wading through waist-high muddy water to reach the scared homeowner.
The officer helps Abbot to a chair, then, once backup arrives, the police team up to get him to safety.
The rescue was just one of dozens performed in the Phoenix area during the monsoons that hit earlier this week.
