RCBH donates mobile health unit to Mexican partners

The Regional Center for Border Health gives a gift that promises to promote healthy living on both sides of the border.

On Wednesday, RCBH donated a mobile health unit to one of its most active partners in San Luis Rio Colorado.

The San Luis, Arizona Walk-In Clinic previously owned the medical van. The clinic used it for health screenings, education, and counseling. It has its own waiting room, a screening area, and a private area for gynecological exams. It also has a kitchenette, and a restroom for patients.

Former State Senator, and current RCBH president, Amanda Aguirre made the presentation. Aguirre said, ” It is a pleasure for us to support our partners across the US/Mexico border, where we all work together to bring high quality health care services to the residents of the communities we serve. ”

Dr. Marco Antonio Ramirez Wakamatzu is the Director of Health Jurisdiction VI in San Luis RC. He says the mobile health unit will be put to good use.

He says, ” This unit will be so beneficial for our organization, since we will be able to reach more communities of San Luis Rio Colorado and its Valley, which will translate in more education and prevention of disease. ”

The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. operates a variety of programs designed to assist underserved and disadvantaged families across Yuma county. It’s mission includes education and outreach.
